BRIEF: The objective of this project was to create a brand identity and sustainable package design for Bee Luminated, a beeswax tea candle company, that used biomimicry* as an influence for form and structure.
*biomimicry is the imitation of the models, systems, and elements of nature for the purpose of solving human problems

SOLUTION: There was an evident need to eliminate the large amount of plastic that is currently being used to package tea candles. An organic reusable cotton pouch with a cardboard hard-shell interior protects the contents while regulating the internal temperature to prevent the candles from melting. The shell of the pancake tortoise–which is strong yet flexible allowing it to wedge into small spaces–inspired the hard shell interior of Bee Luminated packaging.
