The Map 826 Valencia is a nonprofit that offers writing workshops to children in under-served communities. The organization realized a need for an informational tool that could provide teachers and tutors with a guide to 826 Valencia's tutoring approach and values. They also wanted something that could function as a guide for tutors and children to work with as the child develops their piece of writing. In response to these needs I designed "The Map", a comprehensive piece that introduces 826 Valencia's core message in the form of a booklet. When opened, the reverse side mimics a treasure map, guiding children through important stages in the writing process. The design for this piece was inspired by 826 Valencia's nautical and exploratory themed spaces in San Francisco.
